Emsys Maritime gains DNV-GL Type Approval in 2020 win

In an attempt to distract from the events of 2020 so far, some good news – Emsys Maritime has been awarded DNV-GL Type Approval!

DNV-GL Type Approval is often preferred by operators working in arduous offshore applications. Our customer, the world’s largest offshore drilling contractor, required Emsys-iS to be specifically Type Approved for this application. With this Approval, our iS system is an ideal solution for a range of applications including drill ships, FPSO’s, and FSRU’s, along with traditional deep sea ships. The versatility of the Emsys-iS system is its greatest asset; full emissions monitoring functionality as well as being one of the most compact continuous emissions monitoring system (CEMS) on the market.  

A massive shout-out to Matthew Jones, our Lead Project Engineer, for working with DNV-GL to complete their stringent application and vetting process.  He says, ‘I’m just proud of the fact our product can do all the talking and has won itself this Type Approval, I just filled in the paperwork’. We are sure he’s downplaying his role here and we know how hard he worked on this prestigious Type Approval. DNV-GL approval now joins our KR and ABS Type Approvals and reinforces our belief that we can supply shipowners with effective, highly accurate emissions monitoring solutions.
